Benefits of Pilates for Pain, Injury and Rehabilitation
PILATES = MOVEMENT + STRENGTH + MOBILITY + CONTROL
Pilates is building ones strength in a controlled and mindful manner. Building strength is key to physical health, functionality and overall wellbeing.
Reformer pilates is a form of strength training that we use at Excel Physiotherapy to facilitate our clients physically and mentally after injury.
We help clients overcome and understand their pain and injury with guidance and education; assisting them through using pilates to create individualised programmes either one on one or in a class setting.
It is a full body work out which can be tailored for all levels and personalised so that the individual’s muscles are loaded to their own capabilities.
It is suitable for a large cohort of people including :
- All sports people eg GAA, Rugby, Soccer, Golfers, Runners or Walkers helping with mobility, agility improving performance and to mitigate against injury.
- Pre and post surgery rehab optimising and regaining function eg ACL surgery, shoulder, back or hip surgery
- Manual workers and office workers
- Sedentary lifestyle
- Caters for all ages
Everyone can and should be phyisically active and here at Excel we are strong advocates for that. We are here to guide you in your journey to a healthier lifestyle.
