Interaction: The Importance of Connecting With Patients (Date TBC)
October 29, 2021
Format: 1-Day In-Person Workshop
Objectives: As Physiotherapists, we have an important human connection with our patients. Specifically designed for you, this course aims to help you become more aware of the non-physical interventions we use with patients – particularly our attitude, listening, empathy, communication and collaboration with patients. You’ll learn how to make the most of these opportunities to connect, get better at using them and learn useful tips on how to leave a lasting positive impression with each patient you treat. We will discuss recent relevant research in this area – specifically factors that have shown to be beneficial in improving treatment outcomes. At the same time, we’ll explore how the relationship or alliance between physiotherapist and patient can have an impact on clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
