Mgr. Christer Vik Smetana, MISCP
Chris graduated with a bachelor (2010) and a master (2012) degree from Charles University in Prague. He relocated to Ennis shortly after and has since worked in private practice linked closely to a wide variety of musceloskeletal injuries and compaints. He is a member of Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP), Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports and Exercise Medicine (CPSEM) and Chartered Physiotherapists in Private Practice (CPPP) and is eager to constantly update his skill set and broaden his horizons in the physiotherapy profession.
In his clinic hours, he sees a mix of sports related injuries and mainstream complaints. Chris enjoys working with a hands on approach in his assessment and rehabilitation and has seen great results treating clients with various types of low back and neck/shoulder pain together with complaints leading from postural instability. He offers Dry Needling, Kinesio Taping and Orthotic prescription, among other treatment modalities.
Chris was previously a top level track athlete in his native Norway with Gold and Silver medals from Junior and Youth championships and is currently responsible for the physiotherapy for Clare Minor Football Panel and is providing match cover for several other GAA clubs in county Clare and various other sporting events.
